The World God Only Knows Chapter 7-10 : Kanon

So this chapter's girl is Kanon! The new "idol" in Japan, and former classmate of Keima. Regardless of her superstar status, she's quite crazy when it comes to not being noticed. One of those crazy, insecure, why don't you know me super stars. But when Keima finally realizes her problem and gives her support, he's able to capture the spirit. We learn of a new effect these lost spirits have on their hosts...
So it starts off with Keima minding his own business, trying to avoid the hype that Kanon's return to school has created. While playing his game on the roof, he actually encounters Kanon giving herself quite a creepy pep talk. Looks like she has some serious self confidence issues, and being an idol has only made them worse. When she notices Keima, she asks if she knows who he is...When he says no, she tasers him.
Turns out she's terrified of not being known. A few days later, she invites Keima to watch a private performance of her hit songs. When he ignores her, her soul turns so black that she goes invisible. I think that may be an after effect of the lost soul in the woman's heart. Whenever the emptiness grows too large, it starts to turn the body into a ghost.
This is the first time Keima hasn't had to go out of his way to get a girl to notice him. However, he calls that "a trap". If he plays into her vies for attention, she'll lose intrest in him. It also gives him leeway when the time is needed, like when she disappears minutes before her big concert.

He uses this moment to show her that he cares for her, notices her, and loves her and her music. When he tells her that her fans are just the same way, and fills her empty heart with confidence.
Ending it with a kiss <3 p="">

So what I've figured out, is that Keima doesn't fill the girl's hearts just by kissing them, but giving them what their deepest insecurities asked for. He gave the track star the the courage to stand up to her senpai, gave Mio the ability to move on from her father's death and accept her new life, and now he gave Kanon the acceptance she needed. And after all that work, he's perfectly okay with none of them remembering what he did for them...as long as they've found their own paths, he's happy.
